The Vancouver Canucks are heading into the 2025–26 NHL season with renewed optimism, bolstered by a healthier roster and a sharper focus at training camp. Key players such as Thatcher Demko and Elias Pettersson, who struggled with injuries last season, are back to full strength and setting the tone for a faster, more aggressive style of play. Head coach Adam Foote has emphasized speed and defensive support from the blue line, while scrimmages have shown promising performances from both veterans and younger prospects eager to earn a spot on the roster.

The team’s preseason opener against the Seattle Kraken resulted in a 5–3 loss, with goals coming from Victor Mancini, Chase Stillman, and Nils Åman. While the defeat highlighted areas for improvement, particularly on special teams, it also gave the coaching staff valuable insight into depth players and lineup combinations.
