on

The BC Lions ended their recent skid with a 38–27 victory over the Ottawa Redblacks at BC Place, improving their record to 6–7 and reigniting hopes for a CFL playoff push. Backed by an energetic home crowd, the Lions combined timely defense with an efficient offensive performance to secure the much-needed win.

Nathan Rourke shines in balanced attack

Quarterback Nathan Rourke led the charge, throwing for 308 yards and a touchdown while adding two rushing scores of his own. The ground game provided crucial balance, keeping Ottawa’s defense on edge and sustaining long drives.

Defense delivers in key moments

On the other side of the ball, the Lions’ defense forced key turnovers and tightened up in the red zone, preventing the Redblacks from closing the gap late in the game. Their ability to step up in crunch time was vital to preserving the win.

Looking ahead to Calgary

Head coach Buck Pierce praised the team’s resilience and stressed the importance of consistency as the season enters its final stretch. With momentum swinging back in their favor, the Lions will look to build on this performance as they head to Calgary for their next matchup — another tough test in a hostile road environment.
